What Warden does
Moderation for Root: automatic rules, a strike ladder with time outs, a review queue, and a full audit trail.
- Automatic rules
- Strike ladder and time outs
- Review queue
- Audit trail and member records
- Analytics
- Fair and safe
Moderation that keeps up. Warden checks every message in the channels you pick, removes or holds what breaks your rules, steps in when the same members keep at it, and keeps a clear record of everything your team does.
Automatic rules
- Ten rules: blocked words, links, mentions, message length, capital letters, repeated characters, duplicates, floods, new members, and role mentions
- Each rule removes a message or holds it for review
- Set strike points, channels, and how the member is told for each rule
- Starts with an editable list of 476 blocked terms, and catches look-alike and spaced-out spellings
- Stop members in some roles from pinging @everyone, @here, or your staff roles
Strike ladder and time outs
- Rule hits and warnings add strike points that fade after the days you choose
- Warden warns, times out, kicks, or bans when a member reaches a step
- Time outs swap in your timeout role and give the member's roles back when they end
Review queue
- Borderline messages stay up until a moderator decides
- Keep or remove them one at a time or in bulk, with a note
- Removing gives the rule's strike points; keeping gives none
Audit trail and member records
- Every rule hit, action, note, review, and settings change, with who did it and why
- Filters for member, moderator, rule, channel, and time that combine, plus search
- Each member's record shows their points, history, and notes in one place
- Bans and kicks made in Root's own tools are recorded too
Analytics
- Actions over time, split by rules, moderators, and the strike ladder
- Which rules fire most, the busiest channels, and moderator activity
- A weekday and hour view of when trouble happens
Fair and safe
- Members can see their own standing and the messages Warden sent them
- Moderators and admins are picked in Root; staff can't act on people above them
- History is kept for 30 to 365 days, and the database stays under 490 MB
- Nothing leaves Root

What's new
-
v1.2.0
Light theme
- Warden now follows your Root theme. If you use Root's light theme, Warden shows in light colors too, and it switches as soon as you change your theme.
- Badges and labels have squarer corners, and channel labels stay compact on phones.
-
v1.1.1
Safer time outs
- A higher strike step during a time out now extends it, for example from 1 hour to 1 day. A shorter time out never cuts a running one short.
- Settings checks your timeout role and channel rules, and lists the channels where timed-out members could still post.
- If a timed-out member does post, Warden tells you where and how to fix it.
- Warden never checks its own greetings and notices, so its mentions can't trip your rules.
-
v1.1.0
Your messages, new member setup
- Change any message Warden sends on the new Messages tab in Settings, with placeholders like {member} and {reason}, a live preview, and a reset to the default.
- Give new members roles automatically, and greet them in a channel you pick, on the new Joins tab.
- Join wave protection: during a burst of joins, greetings pause and join roles wait until it's over.
- Warden's messages never ping @everyone, @here, or roles, and every change to them is in the audit trail.
